Assignment Overview The Practice Forum is a place to practice important writing skills, and share the results and reflections within a separate forum. Assignment Instructions As you begin the research for your first paper in this course, you will likely have a lot of questions about how to use the library resources effectively. For this assignment, Use the APU Library chat or email (opens in a new window) feature in the library. Develop a list of questions that you would like to ask the librarian about your research. Be specific in your questions, and explain issues or problems clearly. For instance, rather than saying “I have to research the Climate Change Summit of 2016 and I don’t know what to do”, frame your question as “I have to research the Climate Change Summit of 2016. Can you direct me to the most appropriate resources for this topic? Or, can you recommend a set of search terms that will yield the most accurate and relevant results?” The more specific you are in your questions, the more specialized results you will get from the conversation. Once you have a conversation with the librarian (via chat or email), copy a transcript of it into a Word document. Attach the document to the Practice Forum post as evidence of this conversation. Then, in the Practice Forum, reflect on the following questions in a 2–3 paragraph response: What specific questions did you ask the librarian in your conversation? How helpful was the librarian in helping you find answers to those questions? Why? What would you do differently in a similar interaction in the future? Will you engage a librarian in a conversation of this type in the future? Why or why not? can’t do more then that price as it shows.
