The situation must be strategic – that is, it must have a significant impact on the firm’s competitive advantage.   When a firm has a competitive advantage, it outperforms its competitors.  This means that the situation or challenge you focus on will have a significant impact on the firm – even the competition will notice!  Think of a company (or even an industry) that may not be around in X years (less than 10, for example) if it doesn’t do something different. What company? what should they do? Or how should a new potential competitor enter the market? This is an example as to what to focus or what the proposal should be about. I’ll also give you an example. Netflix came on the scene over 20 years ago, but since broadband internet arrived it has grown at an incredible pace.  So fast, that potential competitors took note and entered the market.  Now the market is quite crowded – what should Netflix do? Or how should a new potential competitor enter the market?  The proposal should be approximately 1 page single -spaced and will clearly describe the following:  What situation will be addressed in your paper,  What the primary issues addressed will be, and Why it is appropriate for this course and program.  This is my last class, it’s Business capstone
