Due: Friday, February 26 (by 5 p.m.) Length: 3 -4 pages (minimum)   The Assignment Using three essays from one or both of the last two units (from Christine de Pizan to Hsun Tzu), formulate a specific argument of your own on leadership.   Guidelines Your introductory paragraph should briefly articulate the debate and provide a background for your discussion. Your thesis – an arguable assertion – can appear anywhere in the first or second paragraph. Your body paragraphs should both reinforce and develop your thesis statement. You must, of course, use quotations from the essays, but you may also incorporate other evidence drawn from your general knowledge about the topic and even your personal experience.  As you write, think about the quality of your topic sentences, good transitions in well-developed paragraphs, and the judicious use of quotations to support your ideas. Your conclusion should reinforce your argument without repeating verbatim what you have already said.   Formatting Underline your thesis. Use MLA style for quoting. Include a works cited page. Give your paper a title. Start your paper toward the top of the first page; do not include too much extra space there. Your final draft should be in 12-point font (Times New Roman or Cambria) and double-spaced with 1-inch margins. Please do not put extra space between paragraphs. This is not a research paper.  You may not consult additional sources to write this essay.
