Designing a Psychological Survey/Test Plan

Description

Develop a test plan, including defining the construct or constructs the test measures, choosing the test format, and specifying how to score the test. Now that you have read and studied Chapter 10, develop a test plan using a multiple-choice or essay test format to measure the information learned from this chapter. Example (not to copy):  Creating a test the first thing that needs to be done is to develop the construct. The construct could be known as the population or audience that is being tested. Next it is important to find  test topic that has relevance. The formatting style is another essential in creating a test. The test that is being created is based on if an individual has a substance use disorder. “A multiple-choice format is also an objective test format because it has one response that is designated as “correct” or that provides evidence of a specific construct. In other words, the test taker receives credit for choosing only one correct response (Miller & Lovler, 2020).” Through creating multiple answers, it will allow the participant to chose which answer best fits the question. The purpose of a multiple-choice question test pertaining to substance use disorder is to find out if the participant is struggling with abusing substances. In addition, to multiple choice answers there will be one question that allows for a short essay answer. The test that will be created will have 7 questions: 6 multiple choice and one essay question. An example of some of the test questions are as follows. Do you use substances to make you feel better? Yes, No, Maybe Do you use substance when you wake up in the morning? Yes or No Do you use substances when you experience anxiety? Yes or No Are you able to deal with stress without using a substance? Yes or No Why do you think you use substances? Explain These are some examples to the questions that would be used on the test. The multiple-choice questions are to get an understanding of the participants reasons to using substances and if they help with stress. The essay question allows the participant to put in their own words their reasoning for their substance use or substance abuse. Regarding the topic for the test, several options for styles of testing questions could have been used. Keeping the questions short and simple in my opinion would keep the participant focused.
