Critical Reflection on Beyond Reasonable Doubt

The standard of proof to be met by the Crown in order for the jury to convict an accused is proof “beyond reasonable doubt.” In England, judges have recently been urged to abandon the phrase “beyond all reasonable doubt” since it may confuse juries. The recommendation was made by the Judicial College, which oversees judges’ training in England.  Discuss whether you believe the phrase “beyond reasonable doubt” should be abandoned in Canada.  Your answer should be supported with reference to principles and theories covered in the course material.  Please use Canadian law and references!!!!!
