Description

The papers can be on any topic that relates to the course and that I approve (you should talk with me about your topic before the 1st draft of your paper is due). The paper will primarily be your discussion of some of the relevant primary source material relating to your topic (you will probably use sources from the class course-pack). You should supplement your discussion with one or more scholarly sources, i.e. book(s) or article(s). Your papers will be graded on the following qualities:     * well written, with an organized structure     * a good, clear writing style, and properly proof-read     * informed use of ancient and modern sources     * properly cited, with an accurate works cited list     * displays interesting and/or original and/or intellectually rigorous ideas also one of the sources must be from the course pack  thank you
