Media Analysis

Description

You are required to write a media analysis on a topic of your choice. This paper should be 2-3 pages each and work to connect one course reading we’ve encountered to a piece of media we have not discussed in class – how does your media selection resonate with, challenge, diverge from, or exemplify an aspect of the reading? “Media” is to be broadly interpreted: you may use film, television (e.g., commercials, sitcoms, news broadcasts), YouTube videos, memes, tweets, newspaper article, magazines, print advertisements, political events, etc. Your paper should have an introduction, thesis statement, and body paragraphs that have well-integrated evidence (e.g., quotations from the course article, references to key scenes or moments from your media selection, etc), as well as clear prose with proper grammar. Please make sure that your papers are double-spaced, your margins are 1” all around, and your font is Times New Roman size 12. Papers must have a title. You must submit your paper in .doc or .docx format. Improperly formatted papers (including papers submitted as PDFs and papers without titles) will receive a grade deduction of one step per infraction.
