Here are a couple of ideas, but you have the freedom to write on your own topic from this chapter and/or supplemental material: What were your thoughts or emotions on the Two Towns of Jasper and/or the Matthew Shepard Story? How do we foster an inclusive society? Should Michigan’s hate crime law include sexual orientation? Why? Kidnapping does not occur when a victim is moved incidental to the crime (for instance, a rapist forcefully grabs a victim walking down the sidewalk and drags her into an abandoned house to commit the sexual assault; the only crime is sexual assault – not kidnapping). Do you agree or disagree with this? Why? Maybe you have concerns over family violence, school violence, or workplace violence.
