Description
Midterm exam will be taken on my school’s website with my log in information. Called midterm exam. You have Friday November 13th to take the exam. It opens that morning and ends that evening. I would like to have the exam completed before noon that day. The exam is 30 questions. ONLY 1 hour to complete the exam. No extra time is allowed. You cannot save and return to the test, you must complete the entire exam in one sitting. You must take the exam on a desktop computer or laptop (not a tablet, Chromebook or cell phone). Your computer must be connected to a powersource. Power failure will result in your test being automatically submitted and you will not be able to re-take your exam. You must check to make sure you have a reliable internet connection. If you get disconnected, your test will be automatically submitted and you will not be able to re-take your exam. You are allowed access to your notes and textbook. You may use your calculator or excel when needed. The use of the internet and search engines is prohibited. Now, what should you study for your exam? Below I have included a list of topics I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you master. This list is NOT ALL INCLUSIVE, but if you understand each topic in their entirety, you will be well-prepared. Make sure you have a well-rounded and solid understanding of the following topics: Calculating GDP, GDP per capita, real GDP, GDP growth rates National Spending Approach vs. Factor Income Approach Relationship of GDP and wealth Spillover effects Institutions that promote growth Consumption smoothing Labor force participation rate Solow Growth Model Diminishing returns to capital Catching Up and Cutting Edge Growth Conditional convergence Financial Intermediaries Role of financial intermediaries Market for Loanable Funds Pricing bonds Calculating rate of return Rule of 70 Risk-Return tradeoff Depreciation Time preference Mutual Funds Diversification Buy and Hold Efficient Market Hypothesis Impact of unemployment benefits and taxes Natural Unemployment Cyclical, frictional, structural unemployment Recessions
