The endocrine system links all body systems together. Hormones from these glands control and regulate metabolic processes such as energy production, fluid, electrolytic balance, and the bodies response to stress. It is very important to ensure that the patient’s endocrine system is functioning correctly. If the system is not functioning correctly patient can have many problems, some could result in a patient being admitted to ICU or even dying.
