Understanding Your Own Consumer Behavior

Description

First, describe one of your own behaviors as a consumer. Describe your behavior briefly, in three sentences or fewer. Second, using what we have learned in class, identify and define at least one possible cause of the behavior you described. Clearly describe why the cause you identified could explain the behavior you described. The possible cause of your behavior could come from any session in this course. Reviewing past lectures and/or notes will help you. Be sure to explicitly define and/or explain any terms or concepts from the course that you use to explain your behavior. Complete this assignment in a brief paper not exceeding 500 words.  Put your name and section number in a heading at the top of the paper. Your name and section number do not count towards the 500 word maximum. When you refer to, summarize, paraphrase, or quote lecture material, please include the session number in parentheses at the end of the sentence. For example, if you wanted to define motivation using the definition provided in lecture, you would write: Motivation is “what moves people—an inner state of arousal that provides the energy needed to achieve a goal” (Session 3). Before submitting, please review your paper for spelling and grammatical errors. Spelling and grammatical errors negatively affect my ability to understand your paper and, therefore, will hurt your grade. This assignment will be graded on a 100 point scale. Please see the provided rubric . In general, students that demonstrate an excellent understanding of the material will receive 90 points or greater. Students that demonstrate a good understanding of the material, but show some room for improvement, will receive 80 to 90 points. Students that demonstrate a major lack of understanding of the material will receive 80 points or fewer. Terms and concepts borrowed from the course are properly defined and/or explained. In other words, the analysis demonstrates an impressive understanding and application of consumer behavior principles. 36.0 to >32.0 pts Good Cause(s) is (are) described, but may show room for improvement. For example, a cause may be described and relate to class, but it may not be described clearly, it may lack detail, or there may seem to be some misunderstanding. Terms or concepts borrowed from the course may be lacking a defintion and/or explanation. In other words, the analysis demonstrates a basic understanding and application of consumer behavior principles, but shows room for improvement. 32.0 to >0 pts Needs Improvement No cause is described, or a cause is described in poor or confusing detail. Cause, if present, may be unrelated to course content. In other words, the analysis demonstrates a poor understanding and application of consumer behavior principles. 40.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeFormatting 10.0 to >9.0 pts Excellent Paper looks professional; is easy to read and follow; used session citations correctly and consistently; appropriate length. 9.0 to >8.0 pts Good Some improvement could be made with regard to organization or readability; used session citations correctly; appropriate length. 8.0 to >0 pts Needs Improvement Paper is difficult to follow due to formatting choices; may lack session citations; may violate maximum length. 10.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeSpelling and Grammar 10.0 to >9.0 pts Excellent No or minimal grammar/spelling errors. 9.0 to >8.0 pts Good Few grammar/spelling errors. 8.0 to >0 pts Needs Improvement Many grammar/spelling errors. 10.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeWriting 20.0 to >18.0 pts Excellent Clear and to the point. Easy to follow. Writing is in an appropriate tone. 18.0 to >16.0 pts Good Mostly clear and easy to follow, but some areas could be improved on. Writing is predominently in the appropriate tone, although some areas may have room for improvement. 16.0 to >0 pts Needs Improvement Writing is exceedingly difficult to follow throughout the paper. Writing takes an inappropriate tone. 20.0 pts Total Points: 100.0
