Your piece will require you to create multiple characters (even if you are writing nonfiction, you are still writing characters): the voice of the speaker AND the person/people being addressed. And although this is a letter, and not all letters you write will contain scenes, this one should. You should use this activity as an opportunity to tell someone a story, truthful or imagined. Be thinking about why you (or this character) is telling this story to this particular audience? What do they already know? What does a reader need to know? Specific Requirements: It must be in proper format (titled, Times New Roman 12pt font, one inch margins all around, page number with last name in the right hand corner). It must be addressed to someone real or imagined. Therefore, it must also be sent by someone real or imagined. It must specify if it is fiction or nonfiction It must have at least one scene in it. As we’ve discussed, you must, therefore, be telling the person a story where something involving two or more people happened. It can have more than one scene if you’d like, but it must have at least one.
