Academic Research Paper English 1102 OBJECTIVE: Compose a 3-5 page research paper based on 3-4 secondary sources. (It will be helpful and easy for you if you write your paper on the sources you gathered for the annotated bibliography. If not, that is fine with me. Requirements: A well-researched, academic argument that adds a new perspective to the existing conversation about your topic (the existing conversation will be you’re the points your sources say. You need to add your unique perspective to it). It would be good if you talk about social issues, problems, solutions, or anything you think should be addressed at this point, in the current world (If any help needed, you know what to do: call me or email me). A clear thesis statement that advances a specific, substantial, arguable point. Strong supporting evidence from your secondary research. In-text citation of at least Three to Four different secondary sources. A careful evaluation of relevant counterpoints. This point means how your view or the views of the sources vary or contradict one another. If they do not, search for a source that does this work. A coherent organizational structure that enhances the argument and effectively portrays the research. An identifiable audience. Who is your audience here? Academic papers should be written in academic/professional language. A clear ethos. 3-5 double-spaced pages. MLA citation for all sources in an attached works cited page.
