Description
Content and Structure Please discuss “Why what business are we in is so important?” by choosing one of the options below and consider how they might answer if they were properly marketing oriented. For example, a fast food retailer might be in the business of satisfying hunger quickly, cheaply and conveniently. a) A fast food retailer b) A national airline c) A car manufacturer d) A hairdresser Your essay should focus on the organisation’s attention on the customer’s problem that it is trying to solve rather than on the product as such. This is more likely to lead to a creative and flexible approach to designing a marketing mix and a marketing offering that the customer appreciates and is less likely to lead to a situation where the organisation is left behind by more innovative competitors. This essay should give you experience applying some of the concepts you have learned in this module such as the concepts of Products and services in the market place, Needs, Wants and Demands, Marketing Management Philosophies and the Marketing Mix . You need to consider what to include in the body of your project and what to include in the appendices as it must be as creative as possible. Essential information must be included in the body of the project and will be counted in the word count. Extra illustrative information may be included in the appendices. Your essay will be assessed using the Writing Rubric located below of the Marking Criteria shell. Students will decide on the appropriate structure and content but we would expect to see the following elements: 1. Introduction: Good and appropriate introduction of the business or the organization that you are going to analyse. You need to set the scene of your essay/report. From the beginning, you need to define the focus of the essay (e.g. What is the main aim of your essay?). 2. Main body: Here you present and discuss issues surrounding a particular topic! In your discussion section, you need to show in depth critical examination and evidence of independent research around the topic. You need to search the related literature using a variety of relevant different sources such as textbooks, academic and scientific journals. Your work should be well-organised and structured so that the reader can follow the line of the argument. You need to link your paragraphs using linking words. 3. Conclusion: Your conclusion section is a very important part. Writing a good concluding paragraph can be quite challenging. Like your introduction section, conclusion should be interesting! Your conclusion should summarize the main points of your assignment. Conclusions and marketing implications: Say what you have learned from your results; address the main question and adequately summarize the findings of your research.
