Instructions Using the feedback you received from Discussion #1: Gender Essay Image & Rough Thesis, create your thesis for your Gender essay.  Here is the research essay prompt to remind you to what the essay is asking you to respond.  Below is a thesis example for our Gender essay. Technology in Your Career This unit appears short because you will be doing most of the gathering of information also known as research.   Prompt Research the current technologies (apps, systems, devices, etc.) used in a career of interest (your future career).  To help narrow your search, focus on 3-5 technologies.  What will you need to know about these technologies in order to successfully use them? How are they used?  What is the goal of these technologies? What are the benefits and drawbacks of these technologies? Will you need certification to operate them?  If so, what is required to obtain this certification?  What are the potential future applications?  How may these technologies change in the future? Criteria for Success Integrate readings into the text through quoting, paraphrasing, and other references (MUST USE A MINIMUM OF 3 CITATIONS FROM SOURCES IN YOUR ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY). INCLUDE A BIBLIOGRAPHY of works that have informed your research. Contain an effective thesis that conveys your main idea(s). Include a thoughtful discussion about the effects (positive/negative) and efficacy of these technologies.  Who is benefiting? Who has access to these resources? Who is at a disadvantage from benefiting from these technologies? Base your ideas on your researches, your experiences, and our course discussion. Contain well-coordinated sentences that demonstrate the relationship between ideas. Argument must be complete. Aim for the equivalent of 3-5 pages typed, double spaced, MLA format. Have a thoughtful title. Even though this is a research paper, your thesis will still function similarly.  When an English student conducts research, the reader is still interested in the writer’s opinion, the points they will make, and the larger picture of how society is effected for better or worse.
