The assignment this week is to calculate and analyze a Balance Sheet.
The noted textbook Appendix B Balance Sheet exercise is similar and will be helpful in completing this assignment.
There are two parts, both parts using the Apple Balance. See attached link:

Part one.
Using the Apple Balance Sheet, perform the following calculations. Create a table or spreadsheet for your answers that will show the formulas used to make the calculations as well as the results.
1. Percentage change in total assets, liabilities and equity for 2012 to 2013. For clarity, this means you will do three calculations, one for each major component of the balance sheet.
Part two
Based on your results, answer the following two questions.
What trends do you seed by looking at the Balance Sheet itself, the raw numbers? What are they telling you?
Look at your percentages, what are they telling you?
Note: Identify yourself and this assignment (Income Statement: Calculation and Analysis) on the cover page of your paper. The paper should include:
Calculations. Show formulas and results. Grading will be based using the correct formula and correct results.
Analysis. Restate the questions and your responses. Grading will be based on your level of insight and should also include at least three references. As for volume, think about two paragraphs per answer. Remember to cite sources if used in the write up.
Your submission should be in MS Word. Embed spreadsheets (if any) in the document.
