This assignment has four parts:
PART I
Understanding our leadership styles will help us maximize our skills. This will also help us evaluate our effectiveness in specific leadership situations.
Not all leadership styles are as effective in the same situations. Understanding the best leadership style for each situation will help us create effective strategies to achieve organizational goals.
As part of this assignment, you are asked to take the following self-assessment from MindTools website (https://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/leadership-style-quiz.htm) to determine your leadership style.
Once you have completed the self-assessment, please answer the following questions:

One of the main themes of the video assigned, Sinkex profeses, is that “people don’t buy what you do, they by why you do it”

Solution:

PART I: Based on the self-assessment, my leadership style is a participative style. I agree with the results presented because I believe that I value the input and ideas of my team members and try to involve them in decision-making processes as much as possible.

According to Bass and Riggio (2006), characteristics of a participative leader include being open to input from team members, being willing to listen to and consider their ideas, and being able to delegate tasks effectively. Skills associated with this leadership style include effective communication, problem-solving, and team building.

One situation where my leadership skills helped me was when I was managing a team of customer service representatives at a previous job. I noticed that there was a high turnover rate among team members and that morale was low. I implemented a participative leadership style by involving the team in problem-solving sessions to identify the root causes of the issues and to come up with solutions. As a result, turnover rate decreased and morale improved
