Solution:

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between primary care provider (PCP) burnout and patient satisfaction in a large primary care network.

Methods: The study used a cross-sectional design and included data from 9,273 PCPs and their patients. Burnout was assessed using the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS). Patient satisfaction was measured using the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey. Multivariate linear regression was used to assess the association between PCP burnout and patient satisfaction.

Results: The study found that higher levels of PCP burnout were significantly associated with lower patient satisfaction scores. The association was stronger for PCPs with higher levels of emotional exhaustion and lower levels of personal accomplishment.

Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that reducing burnout among PCPs may improve patient satisfaction. The authors recommend interventions to address burnout among PCPs,……..
