If you could relate to some of them, that would be great) QUOTATION: Pierre Bayle, Answer to the Questions of a Provincial (1703): “You know that in several provinces of France, in Savoy, in the Canton of Bern, and in several other parts of Europe, all one hears of is witchcraft, and that no town or hamlet is so small that it has no one reputed to be a witch. Tales of apparitions and evil spells are endless in number; the heads of little children are filled with them, and that makes them completely credulous and timorous with regard to such things. You hear of nothing else among the common people but that an illness has been given to such and such persons by a witch, and that it has been cured either by the same witch, or by one of his confreres. And the truth is they go running to those types as soon as they decide that an illness comes from a spell.
