Description
So there are two essays and it required 1 page each that’s why I select two pages because it’s for two essays. They are basically the same but different things to write about. I attached the required reading for both. Below I attached the instructions for both essays. If any question, text or call me (808)469-5605 Here are the instructions for the essays: Essay: 1 Introduction: This paper requires you to explore the nature of “reality” and how an MTE shift on one person, if that person is persuasive, can lead to an MTE shift over an entire nation. Invictus portrays a series of actual events that transformed South Africa soon after Nelson Mandela became its new president. What happened after his election stands today as strong evidence that one person matters. It also illuminates the power of symbols, even relatively simple ones such as sporting events, in shaping the way that people imagine reality. Invictus built unity. At the same time, Orwell’s 1984 portrays how a malicious system can spin people’s reality a different direction and alienate them one from another. Colleagues, neighbors, family members, spouses, and even lovers such as Winston and Julia were divided. Instructions: Write a one-page essay contrasting Mandela’s efforts to erase South Africa’s old “reality” of racial hatred to Orwell’s dystopic government’s efforts to expand hatred of all sorts. Both accounts tinker with thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. Feel free to focus on whatever theme strikes you as most interesting: maybe methods or messages, perhaps purposes or outcomes, or even opposition as opposed to support for change within their respective populations. Choose whatever theme works best for you and let it define your thesis. Remember, however, that you only have one page. Formatting Expectations: Your essay should be organized, clean, error-free, and easy to understand. Extra spaces, misplaced periods or commas, misspellings, lousy grammar, and so forth will cost you points. This assignment is about you. Try to make it a reflection worthy of you. You can format it any way you like but your essay cannot exceed one page. Wise students will use single space so they can fit in more ideas but double spacing is acceptable. Be sure to including your name, the class, and the assignment number (SE#1) in the header. Put them all on one line to save paper space. Essay: 2 Introduction: This essay gives you a chance to assess the pressures on decision-making and problem-solving scenarios. Unstoppable is a true story, energized and rendered for a Tony Scott movie, of course. It highlights an on-going series of crises that threaten the town of Stanton with destruction. Throughout the movie, decision-makers high and low must respond to each stage of the crisis as a runaway train hurtles closer and closer to a populated city. In Orwell’s 1984, people must also make decisions. However, their capacity to think, decide, and choose is largely shaped for them by the culture and political environment in which they live. Our focus here is reasoning and the things that might affect its outcome one way or another. Instructions: Pick a character from the movie—one who showed good thinking or bad thinking. Then pick a character from the book—again, one who showed good thinking or bad thinking. Then analyze the pressures on the two character’s thinking. Besides logic and reason, what else might have affected a persons decision-making ability? Write a one-page essay explaining how reasoning can be influenced by an individual’s vision, values, priorities, and position.
