Between 1850 and 1860 several events occurred in the U.S. that highlighted the struggle over slavery. Describe these events and state what finally led to the secession of the South beginning in December of 1860. 2. In the 1790s slavery was dying in the upper South, particularly the Chesapeake area. What led to the resurgence of slavery elsewhere and were did slavery grow? Explain your answers. 3. In the late 1600s and early 1700s, the Anglican Church or Church of England saw two competing movements, the High Church and the Low Church. Describe the origin and development of these two movements, tell how they impacted this church, and explain what impact one or both of these movements had on the North American Colonies. Explain your answers. 4. Despite the fact that smaller states were worried about being controlled by larger states and larger states wanted representation based on population the 13 states were able to develop and adopt a constitution. Describe how they did so. 5. At the beginning of the Civil War both the North and the South had advantages and disadvantages. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of each side and explain how they could and would impact the war. 6. In the 1830s and 1840s the two main political parties were the Whigs and the Democrats. Describe what type of people belonged to the two parties and the main beliefs of the parties. Explain your answers
