Description
For your final project, you are to construct a photo essay. You will take and show 5 photos, with a paragraph length explanation for each photo. These explanations should contain: A description of what’s in the photo, where it was taken, and when it was taken. What philosophical idea is represented by the photo. (Justice, Identity, Good/Evil, etc). The more specific, the better. An explanation of why and how that photo represents that idea. Any relevant connections to essays from our course. The best photo essays will be essays — not just 5 isolated photos, but 5 connected photos that explore various aspects of one philosophical idea. Note that the photos should be ones YOU TAKE, not images taken from the internet. I am not looking for photography skill, but rather that you show thoughtfulness and understanding of the concept in the images you capture. You can put these photos and explanations in a Powerpoint or Word document and upload them to Canvas. “A” projects will have 5 thoughtful photos that all explore related philosophical concepts, with thorough explanations that relate the photos to course ideas and readings, as well as each other. The paragraphs will show evidence of careful editing and proofreading.
