Description

Why is global hunger a major social problem?  Does the world produce enough food to feed everyone?  If so, what is the problem?  The textbook/lecture should be referenced for this part of the question.   Despite being the most prosperous nation on earth, there is still a problem of food insecurity for a good portion of the American population. Also ironically, Americans who do have enough to eat often have other problems related to food and eating like chronic dieting, overeating, living on junk food, anorexia, bulimia, orthorexia (obsessing about a healthy diet), phobias, obsessions, allergies, etc.  Describe a dysfunctional relationship to food that you are aware of through experience, awareness of a friend’s situation or more generally from the media.
