Description
Women in Greek mythology. Gender and gender-roles is a subject that all cultures, ancient and contemporary, have concepts of and discuss. In the Theogony, we learned about female divinities, the loves of Zeus, and Pandora. In the Odyssey, we read about a variety of female characters from Athena and Calypso to Penelope to Euycleia. In this essay, please discuss how you perceive women were viewed and portrayed in Greek mythology (and, hence, in real life). You may want to compare ancient Greek attitudes and behavior to the present day.
