Set Your Goals As you have learned, the first step in achieving a goal is to write it down. In this activity, you will create your own educational and personal SMART goals using a SMART goals graphic organizer. Then you will make a plan for reaching your goals. This activity is a portfolio item. You will submit this portfolio item at the end of the lesson. Before you complete the activity, review the criteria for the assessment and the possible points you could receive. Use the rubric as a guide while working on your goals. You can assess the quality of your work using the rubric. Brainstorm a list of the following goals:   one long-term educational goal for middle school two short-term goals that support your long-term educational goal one personal goal (short or long term)   Tip: A personal goal might be related to extracurricular activities, saving money, friendships, responsibilities, etc. Click on the links below to access the SMART Goals graphic organizer. Use the graphic organizer to help you make your goals SMART. Complete the activity in your notebook.  SMART Goals Open a new Microsoft® Word document. In the top left corner, type the following information: your name today’s date your teacher’s name Using WordArt or a heading style, title the document Goal Setting. Center the title. Save the document to the EDTECH6>Unit 2 folder on your computer before you begin working. Title the document Lesson 5 Goal Setting. Type your four goals in the following order: long-term goal short-term goal #1 short-term goal #2 personal goal What do you need to do to reach each goal? Make a short list, or write a paragraph below each goal to describe your plan for achieving it. Save your work. Evaluate your goals using the SMART Goals rubric. Make any changes necessary. Change the font color and style and add clip art. (Optional) Save your work.
