Discussion Assignment

Description

Considering your reading of the chapter “Isaiah and Politics” answer and discuss the following: How and to whom should the political situations in Isaiah be preached? Is the government structure to be held accountable to the theocracy of the OT prophets or should the functions of theocracy be one in which the church(es) should attend to first? My thoughts behind these questions are related to how often I hear preachers address political and justice issues raised in the Bible to our modern political system. I often muse about to whom the responsibility of justice primarily relies upon. The government or the church? It may not necessarily be an either/or as much as it is a both/and.  I would like to hear your thoughts.  Remember the necessity of showing some research in answering these questions. Have fun discussing and be respectful especially since this topic can raise some real emotions.
