DNA to Protein Concept Map

Description

Construct a concept map using the following terms to represent your understanding of how DNA influences traits.  Concept map training will be provided in class recording/PowerPoint. Must be submitted as a PDF document.  Must be typed (using Google docs, MindMup, or other computer program) for full points; if hand-written or photographed, 5 points off.  If not legible, no points.   Complete your rough drafts first, then arrange in a Word document, Google doc, MindMup, or….   Save as a PDF.  Demonstration was provided in class recording (also see the class PowerPoint, “How to Make Concept Maps”).  Contact SHeD if you are having computer issues or for tutoring. There are many correct ways to construct this map! 1.       Use a full page of paper, 8-1/2 x 11 or larger for your rough draft. 2.      Make a rough draft first.  You might consider printing and cutting out the terms, then arranging them on your paper until you are satisfied with all the connections.   Revise as many times as necessary to end up with a neat, readable, well-spaced project.  3.      Uses boxes or some other shape for all of the words provided below.  Use arrows to show how words/concepts are connected and use connecting words/phrases over the arrows on your map.  Do not repeat the same connecting words/phrases on your map—be as descriptive as possible.  Include arrows on all of your lines and connecting words/phrases over (or under) every line. 4.      See the examples posted on Moodle; refer to the PowerPoint and class recording that include “How to Make Concept Maps”. 5.      Use color to help separate ideas and concepts.  (Do not just randomly color items.) Must be readable and neat in order to receive credit!
