As the cumulative exercise in this class, each student will write a final paper which critically analyzes ideas from at least two of the different sections (Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Fields in Economics) and thematically links these ideas across the sections. Papers must be submitted to Canvas and Turnitin by May 24. Each paper must run between 8 to 10 pages, double spaced, Times New Roman font, size 12, 1 inch margins in a Word Document (.doc or .docx). References do not contribute to the page count. A complete rubric is available on Canvas. Rubric Final Paper This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeDo you have a cover page with your title, name, the class name and semester, and page numbers? Do you cite work from at least two Nobel Prize winners in each section and theme you draw from? (Minimum of 4 Nobel Prize Winners) This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeDoes the paper include at least three separate identifiable arguments with evidence which support your thesis? This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeAre there at least three citations per argument? This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeDoes the paper contain sound economic analysis and tools? Does the paper avoid economic fallacies? This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeDoes the paper contain a clear conclusion? This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeAre quotes longer than 2 lines presented as block quotes? Are block quotes indented once and single spaced? Are they no more than 5 lines total? Does the paper use fewer than 4 block quotes? This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeIs the paper free of typographical errors? Does the paper contain smooth exposition and transitions? This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeAre your references formatted in Chicago Style (not footnotes)? Do you cite at least 7 economics journal articles? Do you have at least 20 citations? This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeDoes the assignment meet the format specifications in the syllabus? This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeIs the paper 8 – 10 pages of text, double spaced?
