creating a Resume

As part of your professional portfolio, each student will be required to produce a tailored resume.  In order to successfully complete this assignment, each student will need to locate a current job opening and tailor their resume to that vacancy. I would encourage students to look at a job vacancy they would like to pursue after graduation. You will find a resume rubric attached to the document the measurements of assessment. Students often ask: How can I create a the resume tailored to a future job when I am still acquiring these skills?   This is a great question and also an excellent opportunity for students to generate the resume they anticipate having after graduation.   I have three (3) suggestions that can help with this process: 1.  Review the college’s course catalog and read the description of courses.  The course description can allow you to infer the skills and abilities you will gain at the conclusion of key courses. 2. Review the course catalog of the college or university (e.g. Temple, West Chester, etc.)  you plan on attending after graduation.  The advice is similar to the above suggestion.  Course catalogs should be available if you go to the college or university’s website. 3.  Locate your desired position using the Bureau of Labor Statistic’s Occupational Outlook Handbook; read the summary and research the occupation.  Here is the website: https://www.bls.gov/ooh/ When you are ready to submit, please do the following: At the bottom of your resume please copy and paste the link to the job vacancy you are using to tailor the resume (It is assumed that the job opening you are looking for is online).
