Please respond to the following post: The purpose of the project:  There is not an effective or formal way to report problems within the scope of nursing to administration. Specifically talking about the tools and equipment nurses use. The tools the hospital administration orders do not always work for all patient populations. This project is important because nurses in each specific unit know what is best for their patients care and are familiar with the workflow of their unit. There needs to be a concrete solution so that nurses can feel their voices are being heard.    Project goal: The goal of this project is to implement an easy and effective reporting system. A system where floor nurses can submit their suggestions and complaints and vote, as a unit, on what should be done. This should result in higher efficiency among staff and better patient care. This in turn will improve nurse and patient satisfaction.    Deliverables: A document explaining how nurses can report their complaints and where to submit their complaints.   A document explaining how the administration will consider the nurses submissions and how the unit (nurses and administration) will proceed to vote on the equipment that will be bought.      Objectives: Implement developed system on one unit of the hospital.  Allow nurses to submit suggestions over a three-month period.   Give administration one month to look over submitted suggestions  Plan a quarterly staff meeting to discuss the two most common suggestions.   Decide how much money the unit has to spend for that quarter and then decide what tool or piece of equipment is needed the most.    Assumptions and risks: Factors that might affect the outcome of the project are financial resources, the amount of time administration has, and accountability. The unit might not have the budget to order a specific tool or piece of equipment. Administration might not have time to help nurses carry out their requests. Nurses may not want to report problems within the unit due to fear of not being heard or no direct result occurring.
