In this essay, you are going to basically be breaking down this article, called “A Virtuous Cycle: How Truth Can Win In Our Public Discourse” by the writers Gleb Tsipursky and Agnes Vishnevkin.  What am I writing about? In this essay, you’re doing a rhetorical analysis of the article “A Virtuous Cycle: How Truth Can Win In Our Public Discourse” by the writers Gleb Tsipursky and Agnes Vishnevkin. A rhetorical analysis essay asks you to break down a piece of writing, explain how the parts work and why the authors made the choices they did, and evaluate the effectiveness of the argument. In other words, is it likely to convince the intended audience to take the “Pro-Truth Pledge”? The final draft should be at least four full pages long, typed and double spaced in MLA format. It may be longer than four pages. It should have all of the parts of an essay: an introduction paragraph with a thesis statement, several focused body paragraphs that each focus on a subtopic related to the assignment, and a conclusion paragraph.
