Assignment 1: Design a Research Study.

Imagine that you have been hired by the Department of Health and Human Services to investigate new insights into child development. You must select a developmental period, pose a new research question, and design a study to try and answer your question. Your paper MUST include reference to several course concepts and relevant empirical research that we discussed in class from at least 2 different chapters. In the paper you should (1) briefly summarize what we know already about your topic (2) layout what question(s) remain and your hypothesis (3) describe the study design that you will use to test your hypothesis. *Note that you must justify your hypotheses with evidence and/or theory (i.e, you must be explain your predictions in relation to current evidence and/or theory. Why are you making the predictions that you’re making?) It is a good idea to choose a specific topic than to try to cover multiple topics, due to limited space. Papers should be at least 2 pages (excluding references).

You can also use other resources but they need to be peer reviewed and the one I provide needs to be the main one. You can go up to chapter 12. Please cite sources the correct way and thank you so much for your help.
