1. Please provide a summary of the Doll Study (video) you were to watch (from last week’s packet). What does the conclusion of the doll study tell us about the ways race impacts how people see themselves (revisit the looking glass self)? In a previous assignment, I asked if racism was a thing of the past. How does the doll study inform your opinion about the continuing significance or insignificance of race in society (be sure to use the video and required reading for evidence to support your analysis)?

2. Please provide a summary of figure 11.6. Are these mascots racist, explain? From a Symbolic Interactionists’ perspective, how might these mascots impact the ways children see themselves if they are members of the group the mascots are designed to reflect? How might a child’s looking glass self be impacted by such mascots? Would the impact be positive or negative, explain (develop your essay).
