Service Project Reflection Submit Assignment

Description

The theme for the Service Project during Fall 2020 = SOCIAL JUSTICE.   So, that should be the focus of this one-page writing reflection.  It is not meant to be some major ordeal/undertaking.  Rather, it is to ensure that everyone does keep in mind our roles as “DEAR NEIGHBORS.”   The impetus for this focus is, of course, the massive waves of frustration, anger, and disappointment evident throughout the past year (and, of course, well prior…).  The issues at stake here are those of social equality, fairness, and concern for other human beings.  At once, it embraces a secular humanism and a Christian outlook.  It matters not if you are a faithful person or otherwise.  What matters is that you care about humanity, both locally and globally.   Guess what?  That’s the major theme of our course, anyway!  Figuring out ways to be better contributors to a global society built on foundations of equity and concern for all.   In this one-page, double-spaced reflection, therefore, all I ask is that you give me a sense of your views on this prompt: “Why is it important for you to give back to your local community?  Why is this concern over social justice an important focus for your community and our “global village?”
