This 4–4.5 page analytical research paper is to be submitted using the Assignment tool in UR Courses by 12:45pm on the assigned date in URCourses as a word document (.doc or .docx), saved as Lastname, Firstname (e.g., Martin, Andi). Do not submit your essay as a PDF; PDFs will be docked 10% and must be re-submitted ASAP, otherwise, assignments may not be accepted. Likewise, do not submit “corrupt” or “unreadable” files – these will be docked 10% and must be re-submitted ASAP, otherwise, assignments may not be accepted. The analytical paper is to be written in Times New Roman font size 12, be double-spaced, and include a title page and reference list (title page and reference list are not included in page length). This paper should include at least five (5) reputable references. Late assignments (submitted after 12:45pm on the assigned date) will be penalized 25% in the first 24 hours, after which assignments will not be accepted for marking and a grade of zero will be given. There will be no make-up assignments. Further details will be discussed in class and disseminated via URCourses. Your analytical paper should not have any grammatical errors. For every 3 grammatical errors (including repetitive errors), papers will be docked 10% off the overall grade. If your paper has over 30 spelling errors (including repetitive errors), you will receive a grade of 0. Your paper will also be docked for sentence structure and punctuation errors, verb tense consistency, and essay structure/quality. All spelling should follow Canadian English conventions. Finally, points will be deducted for improper formatting and going over the page limit. All referencing must follow APA guidelines (minimum of five (5) reputable sources – you won’t want to include more than ten [10]). You must support all claims and assertions; otherwise it is an unsubstantiated and unsearched claim/assumption or plagiarism. If you simply write your opinions and present them as facts, you will receive a grade of “0”. If you plagiarize throughout your work, I will turn the matter over to the Associate Dean for further investigation. All information and ideas must be incorporated into your own analysis and must be clearly acknowledged through in text references and a detailed reference list. For every 3 referencing errors (in text, reference page, missed references, incorrect referencing style, etc.), your paper will be docked 10%.
