History of psychology

Description

Students will write a paper discussing a persistent question in psychology chosen from those listed in this set of instructions. The paper should describe in general terms the issue: the persistent question. It should also review the arguments made by important philosophers, scientists, or psychologists, focusing on those authors who have made the most significant contributions to the issue. Taking a historical perspective, the paper should discuss the earliest known arguments relevant to the question offered by the earliest authors of those arguments. Moving chronologically through history, the paper, the paper should continue by discussing the most consequentially and important subsequent arguments and contributors. The paper should conclude with a discussion of the modern-day resolution of the question and any consensus among contemporary thinkers, if it exists, on the issue.
