Answer the following question in an academic essay format, in 5-7 pages.   “Compare two countries that pursued different methods of economic development and evaluate their performance. What factors explain their economic development or underdevelopment? Choose from the following countries: South Korea, Singapore, Brazil, Mexico, Jamaica, Ghana, Botswana, South Africa.” Make sure you choose two countries or time periods in which different strategies were used. Be clear on which countries pursued which economic development strategies at what period of time, in your analysis. In your essay (ideally, in your introductory paragraph), you should justify your selection of cases by elaborating on what insight you may gain from comparing the two countries. You must cite at least 8 sources to write your essay. You may use the journal articles and book chapters assigned for course readings. In addition to the minimum 8 sources, you may also cite lectures.
