For Phase 7, students may pursue a technical experience or a research experience. Everyone will read through how Natural Language Processing works through the use of a  system for text analysis. Then, students may perform the steps to do the experience, or read a set of articles, to put NLP into context.  If you wish to try the steps and pursue a technical experience, please do the following.  If you wish to pursue a research and reflection experience, please do the following. Read through the tutorial here.  Read through the tutorial here.  Perform the steps, to the best of your ability, and within the limits of the deadline. What lessons does this experience hold for a business process, or a company?  How might sentiment analysis create opportunities for a company? read through the tutorial, then reflect on the concept of NLP, and its use in a business situation.  Supply your reflections with screen shots from your work. If you ran into problems, go ahead and document what happened, then speculate on why things didn’t go perfectly, and how you might fix or redo the work, if you had more time. If you are successful, document your results with screenshots, and a brief explanation of why you were successful.  Research one article where NLP is applied in a business. How might a corporation you work for in the future apply NLP? Collect 3 scholarly articles, then one piece of journalism illustrating how NLP can be used.  Select an industry of personal interest to you. How can this industry use NLP to achieve a competitive advantage over their competitors, or overcome an obstacle to improving their business?  An example of a solid use case you could cite is here, which outlines how NLP could be used to predict the reach of an Instagram influencer, for a particular product.
