Setting, Characters, And Mood Response

PLEASE RESPOND TO THESE TWO PEER POST REGARDING THE YELLOW WALLPAPER BY Charlotte Perkins Gilman  POST 1 The Yellow Wallpaper was definitely an interesting read. At first, I believed that maybe there was nothing wrong with the wife and that maybe everyone was overreacting by not allowing her to be able to do the things she loved like reading, writing, and exercising. I wondered how these things can cause damage to anyone and felt frustrated for her. As the story continued, I realized that she did have a major problem and that everything that was put into place and the plan that her husband and other physicians put into place for her might be a good thing. I can only imagine how stressful this became for her when she began to think that everyone was against her by not allowing her to do as she pleased. She even got to the point where she believed that the love that her husband had for her was no longer genuine and that she was able to ‘see right through him”.  POST 2 It is somewhat crazy that we read the same short story but the way we describe it is very different. I see why people say that the way we perceive things is key.  We did have some similarities as far as knowing the wife has some type of mental illness I was thinking this was from post partum depression and being locked up in this room not being able to do anything made it that much worse.  Now as far as the wallpaper being torn that is where Jane thinks there is a woman living inside trying to get out and at the same time she can relate to her. If this woman that is in the wallpaper can get out she will feel as if she is freed and now that I think even harder about it she may just be that woman.
