One of the key arguments made by Robert Strayer and Eric Nelson was that the Industrial Revolution was not the “result of intentional efforts but rather the unexpected outcome of converging circumstances.”  Based on the evidence presented in this chapter, do you agree or disagree with this sentiment?  Why or why not?
