Teacher’s Role in Student Motivation

TOPIC OF THIS ABSTRACT: For this abstract, I want your abstract to focus in on some aspect of learner motivation (strategies for foster; a teacher’s role in student motivation, etc.), cognitive engagement, culturally relevant pedagogy, or culturally relevant classroom management that is personally interesting to you. SOURCES:  Find 2-3 articles that will be your scholarly sources that look at your chosen topic. They must be from an academic journal.  A copy of the articles or links must be posted in the appropriate Canvas Assignment folder and discussion board.  FORMATTING: Your abstracts are to be prepared in word processing software, using 7th Edition APA format and be no longer than 2 pages (double spaced) in length. Cite as appropriate for paraphrasing and direct quotations.  ORGANIZATION: Your paper is to be organized into the following sections: 1. Your introduction 2. Statement of the reviewed article theme/thesis—one or two sentences 3. Summary of key ideas and concepts 4. Your reaction to the article—Do you agree/disagree with the article?  How could the ideas be incorporated into a BME program?  etc.  5. A summary of your paper and how you think it applies to your preparation to become a teacher or helps another teacher. 6. Reference information included in correct APA 7th Edition format—author, title, source, volume and number, pages, date, full web address, etc.—on Reference page.  Citations completed in correct format.  7. Correct punctuation, grammar, spelling, and format.  (-1 point for each error)   WRITING & VOICE: In a graduate program, you are expected to write in academic voice…sound  scholarly and demonstrate knowledge/expertise in your field. You demonstrate knowledge of your field by using terminology appropriate to education, by introducing and summarizing your paper (just as you see modeled in the articles you read), by having thoroughly edited work, by adhering to formatting rules. These are not papers you’d share with your grandma so skip the casual voice. Your audience is Master’s and Doctoral educated professionals in education.
