Description

Using Black Feminism Theory write a research paper about the proposal below  Black Women Within Rap  Rap music dates back to the 70s when it was first introduced in block parties in New York City. Since the founding of this style of music, there has been a multitude of black male rappers but only a handful of black female rappers. You can see this by just looking at the top rap songs on the billboard, where currently the top 5 are four males and one female. In this essay, I will be explaining the hypocrisy black women face within the rap industry and how misrepresented they are within this community.    Texts: I will be examining Missy Elliot, Salt n Pepa, and their struggles on paving the way for black rappers and how it is still affecting today’s rappers such as Cardi B and Megan the Stallion.
