You are to identify an ethical issue within the criminal justice system that you believe is in need of immediate attention. For example, the ethical issue could include police abuse of power (police brutality), prosecutorial discretion, inhumane conditions within correctional facilities, etc. You have the ability to choose the issue that you wish to write about, I encourage you to do a bit of research about the ethical issue that you wish to write about to ensure there is enough readily available information to include in your paper. In your paper, be sure to introduce your topic by providing a thesis statement, followed by supporting evidence discussing why your ethical issue should be addressed. Finally, provide possible solutions to address the ethical issue. You can utilize recommendations that have been used across the country and/or create your own innovative solution. If you suggest a recommendation that has been utilized elsewhere, please cite the area (i.e. city/state) where it’s been used and discuss its effectiveness in that area.
