Hi, for this assignment I have to write a 500 word essay discussing Euripides’ Medea: Athenians did not like Euripides’ Medea (performed 431 BC). What is it about this play, in your opinion, that bothered the original Athenian audience? Some claim Euripides was a supporter of women’s causes and if he were alive today he would be considered a proponent of women’s rights; other believe Euripides was a misogynist and felt much the same about women as most other fifth century Athenian men. Based on your understanding of Euripides’ Medea, which view do you believe is more correct and why? Supply a 500 word essay using the appropriate template and drop box.
