For your Unit 3 assignment you will complete a critique of the case study titled “The Triple Aim Journey: Improving Population Health and Patients Experience of Care While Reducing Costs.” By Douglas McCarthy and Sarah Klein, Issues Research, Inc.   Your paper will include a review of current articles/periodical/textbooks on the topic of interest. A minimum of 7 references are required for this assignment. There are many articles and other references on the Triple Aim Initiative. You want to research references that can help provide supportive statements to your content. The paper will be 3-4 pages in length, excluding cover page and reference page. The paper must be written in APA format. You MUST use subheadings for each of the 10 primary sections in your paper including: Introduction, Overview, Cultural Competency, Leveraging of Technology, Global Health Initiatives,Critical Factors for Success, Mentoring/Coaching/Leading, Measuring Success, What I Learned From This Project and Conclusion. This helps to assure you do not omit a section and helps with the overall flow of the paper. Papers without the ten subheadings will not be accepted for review.  Clarification When writing your critique it is important that you be aware of these points of clarification. First, in the body of your paper regarding cultural competency you are addressing first whether the article does or does not address cultural issues or cultural competency. If it does, how was it addressed? If it does not, did you see opportunities where addressing cultural issues would have played a role in the study? Leveraging of Technology- here you want to address whether or not the article discusses any use of technology in the Triple Aim Initiative. If it was used what type and how was it used? If it was not addressed describe how it could have been used or addressed in the study. Global Health Initiatives- for the purposes of the assignment when we refer to global health initiatives it is defined as an “organized effort integrating the involvement of organizations, individuals, and stakeholders around the world to address a healthcare issue.” So here you will be discussing whether the Triple Aim Initiative used any global initiative and if so describe it. If not, then indicate whether you see opportunities it could have and how. Critical factors for success- what factors were part of the Initiative that were necessary for its success? You want to address that in this section as well as any thoughts you may have on what might have helped make the initiative more successful. Mentoring/coaching/leading- here you will address whether the Triple Aim Initiative received any mentoring, coaching or leading help and if so how. If not, what type of assistance would have been beneficial? Measuring Success-here you want to focus on whether or not the Triple Aim Initiative set up processes to measure its success. If it did then describe those measures.
