Share ONE BODY PARAGRAPH from essay outline and annotate that paragraph to explain the function of each section

Description

The course is actually a writing intensive course. The assignment is to share a paragarph from the outline of the essay. I have chosen to write about the Barbie doll. There are two parts to this assignment. For this particular order, I first need an outline of the essay. Second, I need to have one paragraph of the outline fully annotated. There is no specification as to how many pages the outline has to be, it’s for a research paper that is due in December. I am guessing one to two pages for the outline and one to two pages for the annotated paragraph. If you accept this order, please know that I would also like to hire you to write the actual 10-12 page paper. I will attach the artciles that must be used as well as other resources that the professor suggested we use for reference. I ask that you follow everything that I am giving you to reference. The 4 readings, that I have attached, must be incorporated into the essay as well as 4 secondary resources (scholarly resources and any other resources that you incorporate in the paper. A resource that must be included is the Barbie commercial, I will attach the link. My professor prefers signal phrases as opposed to tons of direct quotes. She’s not opposed to the use of direct quotes, but there should be very few. What you see here, highlighted in white, is my discussion post for my argument. This is the direction I would like to have for my paper. I will attach the readings, the requirements for the final paper and one of my paper’s, to give you an idea of my writing style. I am in my last semester of school. I went back after 25 years. I haven’t received any feedback on my discussion post. It was just posted this evening. My post ends with the word Barbie. The next post, that you will see hilighted, is an example of how she would like the annotated paragraph to look. So for this order, I only need the outline and on a separate page(s) the annotated paragraph. I have decided to write my final paper on the Barbie doll. The barbie doll’s first introduction to girl’s playtime was in 1959. Although the doll has been quite popular from then to this current day, it has been questioned if Barbie’s unrealistic body image has young girls questioning their own images, self-esteem and what life would be like if they were able to land one of Barbie’s dream jobs. Through primary resources, scholarly articles, and Barbie commercials, I will attempt to ascertain the effects of playing with Barbie dolls. I will use the evidence from the resources to support my findings. Over the years, Barbie’s appearance has changed and Mattel has now incorporated Barbie dolls of various body types, into their line of Barbie dolls. While continuing to research this topic, I am curious to find out if young girls who may be “curvy”, “thin”, or “petite” play with the dolls that are exactly like them or if they tend to go for the “perfectly shaped”, Barbie doll. One of my resources is a 1959 Barbie commercial. The commercial shows Barbie in various outfits, with many other outfits and accessories to choose from. The song in the commercial is what stood out to me. The lyrics are a prime example of the make believe Barbie world that a young girl only dreams about becoming a part of; all she hopes to be is Barbie. SAMPLE PARAGRAPH OUTLINE II. THE JOURNEY DEPICTS ITS CHARACTERS AS ACTIVE BY EMPHASIZING THEIR TRAVEL This is a topic sentence that explains what the paragraph will be about. A. Characters are often depicted in motion. This is a sentence that will explain how travel is emphasized in the book (in general terms). B. Right to left directionality in images usually implies progress or the passage of time (include quotation from Nodelman p. 96). This is a sentence that draws upon an expert quotation to explain the meaning that left to right motion often has in picture books to set up the writer’s original analysis. C. The first parts of the family’s journey are shown in a series of pictures moving from the family car, to the back of a truck, to hidden in the back of a produce van, to traveling by bicycle. This is a series of specific examples of the technique being described (right to left movement) taken from the book. This is evidence. The repeated left to right setup of the illustrations show that the family is not helpless or or stuck, but that they are actively moving forward and are involved in finding safe solutions for their lives. This is interpretive material responding to the previous evidence to explain its meaning and significance in relation to the paragraph’s main point (and the paper’s main argument).  D. The author/illustrator Francesca Sanna stressed the importance of showing that refugees are not simply passive victims (quote from Sanna interview). This is an additional primary source that helps to make the above analysis even more persuasive by showing that the author really cared about depicting her subjects this way.  TTh
