Project #3 (Oral Presentation with Powerpoint) This project consists of a 5-minute, recorded Oral Presentation that includes a Power Point Scenario: Imagine that you are Robert Nardelli, CEO for Chrysler in 2008 at the time of the Financial Crisis. You are presenting your plan for the company’s restructuring (including layoffs) to the Board of Directors who must vote to approve your plans. Using Nardelli’s letter that you used in Project #2 (Revision) as a , I want to you record a brief, five-minute oral presentation (accompanied by Powerpoint) where you will explain your plans outlined in the letter to your Board of Directors and ask for their vote of support. 1. Begin with a proper welcome/introduction where you clearly and directly state your purpose and outline your presentation. 2. Follow the strategies for internal persuasive messages. 3. Use the direct approach. 4. Provide specific information. Support all claims with evidence. Discuss plans for company’s restructuring and layoffs clearly and transparently. 5. Inspire the Board’s confidence through your tone, leadership style, and specifics 6. Include a conclusion (statement of goodwill and call to action) at the end where you ask the Board to vote to approve your plan. 7. Be sure that your message is appropriately audience-centered. Under normal circumstances, you would make this presentation live, but I’m asking you to prepare a recorded presentation using the “Record Powerpoint” feature. If you need technical assistance with this feature, please let me know. Important: You do not have to record a video presentation. An audio-recorded Powerpoint presentation is acceptable. You may use Nardelli’s letter from Project 2 as the basis for your presentation. Additional research is not required, but it is allowed. If you do any additional research, please cite your sources. You must speak for at least 5 minutes as part of the presentation and your Powerpoint must have at least 5 slides (including a title slide) in order to receive full credit.
