Provide a written analysis (5 pages essay), using critical thinking to answer the following questions:   Watch several cartoons or live-action television programs for young children. Using examples from the cartoons or TV programs address the following topics in your essay: Describe how males and females were represented; Were any characters portrayed in gender-stereotyped roles?  Were males and females equally represented in exciting plot activities?  Were the behaviors, attitudes, and characteristics of male and female characters strongly gender stereotyped?  Are newer cartoons and programs less gender-stereotyped than those from your own childhood?  How might these media depictions influence young children’s gender typing?
