You may pick from these lists of Major Theorist or Specific Topics/areas, or you may pick ANY area or Developmental Psychologist that interest you. Pick one and write a 500 -750 words (2-3 pages double spaced, 12 font.). You will be using APA guidelines on the references (see below). Submit the document by the date in the syllabus through Canvas. Late papers will result in deductions.

*APA STYLE (7TH EDITION)

The references are NOT included in the required word count, so 2 pages that are inclusive of a quarter page of references will be too short! You must use at least 3 sources. You may reference the text, and internet sources. However, The HCC Library gives you access to hundreds of thousands of articles, so consider checking there before simply Googling something. DO NOT PLAGERIZE the material. It is way too easy to check for that and a “0” covering 15% of your grade will be disastrous. Use quotes when appropriate, but that should be used sparingly.

Let me know which theorist or topic you are picking. However, you may propose additional Psychologist or Topics for consideration (there may be duplication of theorists/topics in each class)

UNDERSTAND APA referencing requirements within the body of the paper. Missing that is an automatic 50 point deduction. Please look at the sample paper which I have attached as an example.

Most importantly: PICK A TOPIC THAT INTEREST OR EXCITES YOU!!!!!!

Major Theorist:

You may provide a very brief historical information, including when/where born, died (if), where worked and major contribution to the field of Psychology. You may also include any significant disagreement with their theories. Or you may pick a brief area of theirs and discuss that in detail (i.e. What does Freud mean by The ID (“das ich”) You can NOT cover any of these Psychologist in 2 pages, so pick one idea/concept that interest you and research it.

Provide a brief discussion of the topic, and if appropriate, including who is most responsible for the topic and the influence on the field of Psychology. This is NOT an exhaustive list, feel free to move beyond these into any area of Developmental Psychology that interest you.

Overall Format: (and this all sounds MUCH harder than it really is..)

2. Written Report – (include a “running title” on each page and page numbers at top Right. Of course, you may leave the running title off the cover page, if desired.)
