Creation and Flood

First, select and identify the following: Two writing comparisons/contrast from the Creation and flood, both must be Enuma Elish and Epic of Gilgamesh. One comparison from the Tower of Babel.  One comparison from one of the following sections (biblical text to the ancient texts noted in the book)  Ancestral, Epic, Covenants, Law, Cultic. Second, Based on your selections, here is what your paper needs to do.. Identify the story you have chosen. Choose a short passage or two and compare it to something you find similar from  any of the verses or themes from readings of the Pentateuch. Your examples need to include the actual text from the Near East text (actual passages of the story…not the introductory paragraphs for each item), what you believe is a matching passage or verse from any part of the Pentateuch and a brief explanation for what you see.  Finally, answer this one question to cap off the end of your paper: Based on the similarities you have found, how important/influential do you think the context of the people, culture of ancient days were to the writing of the Hebrew Scriptures? Provide some concrete insight and examples or observations to support your conclusion. Dig deep. Think theologically. What would it mean that so many similarities exist.
